Introducing Alicia, our OPALUS intern!
Here at OPALUS magazine we’re all about global workplace connections. We love the idea that imaginative minds are crafting OPALUS focused creations across continents, time zones and coffee breaks.
So, without further ado, we would like to formally introduce Alicia Schulmeyer to the OPALUS Magazine team. When a connection occurred between this prospecting intern and ourselves, naturally we were enticed to have a German contributor to our family of artistic misfits, (did we mention she lives in Germany… one of our all-time favorite counties... gush!)
Her fate was sealed however, when she describe her favourite coulor, as “coulourful itself.” Now that’s Imagination Land material.
Welcome Alicia, a believer of dreamed reality, a participant in the school of thought that both the beautiful and the obscene are symbiotic and a contributing participant in the growth of constant societal discovery. She’s an Artist who smiles when she cooks, laughs when she sweats and is now an official member of our budding international family.
Cheers to you Alicia, or should we say... Prost!

We talk to Rebecca about fresh faces, flowers, and her imagination in this Spring time OPALUS interview:
OPALUS - Spring is here! Are you excited?
REBECCA – Yes! I’m so unbelievably excited to have Spring arrive; finally! I used to be a fan of Winter but I think with how long it stays now, I’m definitely changing sides!
OPALUS - What color is inspiring you most lately?
REBECCA - Definitely Radiant Orchid! It is this year’s ‘Must Have’ color! I love that it’s playful, flirty and fun - not to mention the pop of unexpected color it gives!
OPALUS - What does your imagination look?
REBECCA - My Imagination = Chaos. Utter and complete Chaos. Haha! That’s good though, right? There’s no end and no beginning to my imagination. I’m always thinking of ideas and sometimes several at once. I find the more I let myself experiment, the more I am able to come up with. I love dreaming about concepts and I get inspired from the littlest thing in my everyday adventures.
OPALUS - What is your favorite makeup look for the spring time?
REBECCA - Spring is all about having a fresh start so I’m all about fresh, clean faces, dewy skin and a pop of Radiant Orchid on the lips! I recommend Bite Beauty Matte Crème Lip Crayons (Sephora $28.00). If you aren’t a lipstick person, try some bright and fun eyeliner in similar colors! It’ll be sure to freshen up your look and make you feel great!
OPALUS - What smells remind you of the spring?
REBECCA - Grass, Fresh Air, Bonfires and Flowers!
OPALUS is backing Rebecca’s talent and imagination 100% and hope you will too by voting for her in the two awards she is nominated for this year; Most Popular Makeup Service and Most Popular Makeup Artist!

The House of Road Photography in Cannes, France
The stage is set. Anticipation and excitement slowly seep through the audience as individually they prepare for an artistic presentation. A visual display that promises to evoke a juxtaposition of emotions; love, innocence, betrayal, hope, wanderlust… Endlessly the list continues, uniquely changing for every person, because here at this performance, we are the lone spectators- a photograph our play.
Getting ready to walk with French Model Pauline Suissa at the Melany Rowe Designs show at the Hotel Majestic Barrier
The House of Road, a photography company lead by Jordie Hennigar, visually documents moments in this dramatic fashion. While recently in France taking biographical images of Melany Rowe’s featured designs, we discover that this Shutterbug isn’t only capturing moments, she’s crafting a narrative in which time can both be frozen and live forever. Here, her camera becomes not only a tool, but an accomplice, furthering the plot long after the live stage has been disassembled. She’s an author, whose storylines are scribed with light and lens. A playwright whose characters are developed through candid moments, intertwined with shots of rehearsed perfection. And finally, a director whose stage isn’t merely constructed, it’s discovered.
“In Paris and Cannes, every corner you turn on the street is another photo shoot waiting to happen,” gushed Hennigar when talking about her most recent trip as a fashion photographer in France. She confessed to OPALUSmag that this portion of the industry is where she has truly found her niche; since pulling inspiration and creativity from the fashion world is, as she puts it, “a photographers dream.”
Well Jordie, if this is your idea of a dream world, we are certainly excited to see what adventures your subconscious takes us all on next!
Follow her visual story below and let the intrigue begin.
