Pragmatic staples centralized the whimsical floral patterns of the extremely polished runway collection Shannon Fielding trotted down the platform Saturday night at Western Canadian Fashion Week. As last season’s emerging designer, Fielding provided the fashion industry with a poignant example of the sharp on-point vision young creators continuously bring to the runways of WCFW.
What we, the trend seeking devotees were provided with, was a lust worthy collection of the Spring 2015 variety. Seriously, those florals! So on point was the youthful pattern that its steady inclusion leant to the overall vibe, a cohesively wrapped spring collection reminiscent of a time when our grandmothers were young – playful nostalgia on command. These designs entrust hope to an understated business floral reality, one where pencil skirts and structured blazers remain staples, crop tops play to trend and femininity flows with a sought after, approachable ease.
But alas, we have one unsavory note…
Spring – it’s still so far away.
Shannon Fielding, we will be waiting.
