He's sort of like a mosaic with two different patterns interwoven. Most people only see one pattern, the easier of the two to find, and then they dismiss it as nothing more. But for those who choose to look deeper, those who care to look deeper, there is a more intricate pattern to be discovered. And with that discovery, comes the insight necessary to understand how the patterns became one in the first place.

OPALUS was so excited to visit Derek Jagodzinky's Studio, where everything LUXX is created!

We wanted to get an up close look at our favourite pieces out from this season's LUXX Ready to Wear accessory line, the hand painted hand bags and bustiers... Simply brilliant, and unexpected!
Derek explains: "Modern indigenous collection - if you think about the true root of being native, its Nature and the connection to it. I used the colors and texture found in nature with classic LUXX esthetic. Also this season I worked with a native artist that hand painted my bags that give the collection a tactile feel, with classic native silhouette art with a modern twist with application and colors."

Opulence was in abundance at WCFW and local designer Jessica Halabi’s creations sauntered the runway with an otherworldly empowerment. While formalwear meets business beauty powered the procession, her designs brought fantasy and a dreamlike rhythm to an otherwise sleek elegance.
Bring it on Jessica! OPALUS Magazine can’t wait to see what happens next.

Here at OPALUS Magazine the crafting of reverie beholds us. So, if imagination is our wheelhouse and authenticity our reality, then April 3rd's showstopper at Western Canadian Fashion Week…. well pretty much nailed it! IMPAIR’s perfected designs presented us with the subtlety of a midsummer night’s mirage and married it with a structured neutrality that left us almost speechless in its precision.
Thank you IMPAIR. Starstruck. That’s our last remark.
